Airbag Vests Deals

Motorcycle airbag vests inflate in a crash to protect the torso, collarbones, and spine areas where conventional armour offers little coverage. Two technologies exist: tethered systems (Helite, Spidi) use a lanyard connected to the bike and are simple, affordable, and need no subscription; electronic systems (Alpinestars Tech-Air, Dainese D-Air) use motion sensors to detect a crash algorithmically — they react faster, work in any impact including low-sides, and deploy without a tether, but cost significantly more and require an annual software subscription.

Before buying

  • Tethered systems require a physical lanyard to your bike — simple and affordable but deploy if you drop the bike at a standstill.
  • Electronic systems (Tech-Air, D-Air) require an annual activation subscription to keep crash detection firmware current.
  • Check vest-jacket compatibility — some airbag systems work only with matching jacket models, others are standalone.
